          "西迫間横穴墓は昭和9年(1934)、地区民の作業中に偶然に発見されたもので、西迫間の北端崖下にそって、南に面して開口していた。  　当時は朱塗りの石蓋が見つかり、5基が確認され、いずれも古墳時代後期のものと考えられる。しかし現在は崩土で塞がり杉も茂って、その現状を見ることはできない。  　この横穴墓は家を形どった単室で奥行き2.5m、幅2.5m、天井は屋根型で高さ1.32mある。  　副葬品として数種の鉄鏃・刀子(とうす)・勾玉・管玉・貝輪・指輪・須恵器・土師器が出土している。奥の屍床に鉄鏃の束が置かれ、その近くから銀環が発見された。当時は銀製品は金製品より少なく、権力の高さがうかがえる。それを物語るように、この地域ではこの場所を昔から「公家さん」と呼んでおり、5月8日、古墳の発掘を記念して毎年「公家さん祭り」が開かれる。"
