" 象潟の絵屏風の作者は牧野梅仙（1778～1824）で、牧野永昌（1748～1824）の養子である。梅仙は永昌が象潟図屏風を描く際に一緒に象潟に行って助手をつとめており、その折に絵屏風を描いたと推定される。梅仙は永昌の「法橋」より位が高い「法眼」の位をもつ。"
