          "夙川オアシスロードは昭和46年に設置されました。当時、一日に4千台近い車が公園内の道路を通り、夙川を挟んだ沿道は、その往来による排気ガスや歩行者への危険性が問題となっていました。昭和46年8月1日から夏休みの1ヶ月だけでも子どもたちが思い切り遊べるようにと、夙川東岸道路の内、国道2号－香櫨園浜間の約1.3kmから自動車を締め出し、「緑の散歩道」として開放しました。その試みが大変好評だったことから、9月以降も夙川オアシスロードとして開放され、人々の憩いの場となりました。写真はオープンの日、開通式に先立って行われた「夏休み子ども写生大会」の様子です。阪神電鉄香櫨園駅南側に設けられたテントで指導員に描いた絵をみてもらう子どもたち。この日だけで約400人の子どもたちが参加したということです。"
