パン屋さんの場所にあった眼科が、馬冷池公園南側道路の拡張工事に合わせて、旧大和高田郵便局(本局)の場所に移転しました。
Following the expansion work of the street south of Bareiike Park, an ophthalmology clinic that was once at the location of the present-day bakery was moved to the location of the former Yamato Takada post office (main office)．

昭和20年代の本郷通り
写真の右側手前に郵便局の建物がありました。右手奥に入った広場も郵便局の敷地になっており、郵便物を運び出したりする大きな出入り口がありました。

水本さんのおはなし
「上の写真の右側が郵便局の入口です。記念切手を買うためによく並びました。この左手は、車が入れるように広場になっており、その広場を囲むように、北側には、倉庫が3，4棟建っていました。それは、石炭などを入れておく場所だったらしいです。屋根は、瓦ではなく金属でしたので、子どものころには、よくそこで遊んでいました。」

“On the right in the above photo is the entrance to the post office. People often lined up to buy commemorative stamps. To the left of the entrance is an open space for cars to park. There were three to four warehouses to the north surrounding the open space. The warehouses were reportedly for storing coal, etc. The roof had metal instead of clay roof tiles and I used to play around there when I was a child. ”
