Description
|
Opened in 2014, this small museum is located near Urakami Cathedral. It presents the history of the persecution of Christians in Urakami and the damage caused by the atomic bombing. In addition to materials related to Christianity the exhibit includes roof tiles that were melted by heat rays, a statue of Mary with scorch marks, and a clock as well as a restoration map of the hypocenter area that was created in the 1970s as part of an atomic bomb damage restoration survey project. Special exhibitions are held regularly and there is also a selection of books related to the history of Urakami.
