“Establishment of the Kanto Rugby Football Union”

This situation naturally required the establishment of a suitable organization to manage rugby as a sport. In Kanto, based on the AJRA operated mainly by those Old Boys of each school, the Japan East Rugby Football Union was established on 20 June 1924. Ginnosuke Tanaka assumed the chairperson's position, while Jusaburo Hashimoto became the board director.
“Various Universities Form Rugby Clubs”
Various universities including Hosei, Chuo, Aoyama Gakuin, and Hokkaido formed rugby clubs.
When the Kyushu Rugby Football Club was formed, Keio visited Kyushu to play the memorial match at the founding. According to “The History of Kyushu Rugby”, the beginning of Kyushu rugby throws back to a rugby match with Keio University planned by Michio Yokoyama as the ceremonial launching of the Kyushu Rugby Football Club on 13 September 1924. To this match, great players came from Kansai, such as Saburo Itami, Kumazo Tanabe, Teiichi Sugimoto, to play for the Kyushu Rugby Football Club. This club served as the driving force to establish the Kyushu Branch of the Seibu Rugby Football Union in the following year.
