[JRFU] On 30 November 1955, the second chairperson, Kumazo Tanabe, was passed away. Tanabe had been the leader of Japanese rugby as the head director and chairperson of the JRFU since its establishment 29 years earlier. The funeral was held by the JRFU at the Prince Chichibu Memorial Rugby Stadium on June 15. Ban Kayama was recommended as the third chairperson, while Hajime Waki assumed the post of the head director.
[Rules] A new rule revision stipulated that when a penalty kick is taken, the offensive must move 5 yards forward, while the defensive must move 10 yards backward swiftly.
[Japan] The Japan national team met the All-Australian Student team and played three test matches in Kyushu, Kanto, and Kansai, losing all of them.
