Yuji Matsuo played in the 100th memorial matches of the Northern Territory Association in Australia as captain, SO of the World Select Team. In April, Doshisha and Meiji Universities went on an accompanying tour to New Zealand (Doshisha had two wins and four losses, Meiji had three wins and four losses, and Doshisha and Meiji combined team had one loss). In August, Hosei toured New Zealand with one win and five losses. In March 1984, Toshiba Fuchu toured England with two wins and three losses.
