In the morning session delegates from different colleges gave brief reports, one of them presiding. In the afternoon Mr. Mateer and Mr. Ferguson spoke both in Chinese. In the evening I did not go to the meeting but called Mr. Komura, the manager of Mitsubishi Bussan Co. He was out but saw his wife. Then I called with Mr. N. Ikeda on Mr. Nishimaki, the manager of the Yokohama Specie Bank but he too was out.
午前の部では様々な大学の代表がそれぞれ短い発表を行い、そのうち1人は議長を担当していた。午後にはドクター・マティーアとミスター・ファーガソンが両者とも中国語でスピーチをした。
夕方のミーティングには参加せず、三菱物産［三井物産？］の支店長であるミスター・コムロを訪ねた。彼は外出中だったが、奥方に会うことができた。その後ミスター・N・イケダと一緒に横浜正金銀行の支店長であるミスター・ニシマキを訪ねたが、彼も外出中だった。
