In the morning Dr. Sheffield gave an address on training leaders for the Y.M.C.A. work and discussed plans for the future.
At noon Mr. Tatsuno called on me representing the committee and told me that fifty young men will join the association and they will be responsible for 40 yen a month. A result hardly expected.
In the afternoon I read my paper on the student work in the government institutions in Japan. Mr. Barrel of the China inland mission interpreted for me. Mr. Gailey followed me with his address on the work in the Chinese government institutions. In the evening they have a farewell meeting. Mr. Lyon presided and called on the delegates to give testimonies of their impressions too.
午前中はドクター・シェフィールドがYMCAの活動のためにリーダーたちを教育することについてスピーチをし、今後の計画が話し合われた。
お昼にミスター・タツノが昨日の委員会の代表として私の所に来て、50名の青年がYMCAに参加する意思があり、一月当たり40円ほどの会費を支払ってくれると伝えてくれた。ほとんど期待していなかったような結果だ。
午後は日本の政府機関による学生たちに向けた取り組みについての報告書を発表した。チャイナ・インランド・ミッション（CIM）のミスター・バレルが通訳してくれた。続いて、ミスター・ゲイリーが中国の政府機関で行われていることについてのスピーチをした。
夕方には送別会が開かれた。ミスター・リヨンが取り仕切り、参加者代表の方々に所感を聞いていた。
