The street ahead of this photo has remained unchanged and still leads to the Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street,however,the foreground street once had stores lining both sides up to the railroad crossing. There was also someone who was in charge of manually raising and lowering the railroad crossing barrier. It was because there were many Japanese National Railways (JR) trains that traveled through the crossing.
