On October 1, 1953, the present-day Yamato Takada City Hospital, which was designated as a model hospital by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (currently, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare), was built at Oaza Onaka 281, Yamato Takada City and named “Yamato Takada Civilian Hospital.” At that time, the hospital had 85 general hospital beds (for admissions), and five departments: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, and Radiology.
In December 1970, the hospital was renamed the “Yamato Takada City Hospital,” and rebuilt in the area currently called Isonokita Cho. The number of general beds increased to 320 beds by November 2011, and the hospital now offers a wide variety of services through 24 departments (as of 2016). The hospital has been helping people with the aim of becoming a vibrant hospital that values person-to-person interaction and is supported by trust and reliability.
