Funabashi's Public Sculptures

Since 1981, Funabashi City has installed a total of 25 public sculptures in locations such as parks, public facilities, and station plazas throughout the city to create cultural urban landscapes and to enhance the cultural sensibilities of residents. They are works created primarily by some of Japan’s leading sculptors as well as famous and up-and-coming sculptors living in the city. These public sculptures are very well known to Funabashi residents, they have become integral parts of the living space, and have also become popular symbols of the city.
